For promising to bring 2,600

jobs to North Carolina over the next 3 years, insurance company MetLife

will receive:

  • $87.2 million Job Development Investment Grant

    (rebate of state withholding tax on new jobs)

  • $2 million state grant from the One North

    Carolina Fund

  • $5 million in community college training funding
  • up to $6.9 million from local governments

MetLife is consolidating its global technology campus in

Cary and its US retail business campus in Charlotte to cut

costs.   Many of the jobs will be

moving to North Carolina from Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut,

Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and California.
