Events

On April 16 at 3:00 eastern the Aspen Institute will host “Opportunity Zones and the challenge of addressing our economic divides” in Washington, DC, with a livestream option. This event is part of the Economic Opportunities program, which advances promising strategies, policies, and ideas to help low- and moderate-income Americans connect to and thrive in a changing economy.

The Novogradac 2018 Opportunity Zones Spring Conference will be held April 25-26 in Denver, CO. The program promises insight into ways new legislation could improve the opportunity zone incentive, how opportunity fund sponsors view the market, how communities can capitalize on opportunity zones, and recommended practices to maximize zone impact.

The Council of Development Finance Agencies Federal Policy Conference, April 16-17 in Washington, DC, will include a session on Financing Strategies for Opportunity Zones. This program will emphasize ways development finance tools can be paired with federal dollars to support projects in Opportunity Zones. CDFA also offers a valuable Opportunity Zones resource page.

Several city- and state-specific opportunity zone programs are being hosted under the Bisnow banner, with upcoming events in Nashville, Dallas-Fort Worth, Sacramento, Fort Lauderdale, and Washington, DC.

The 2019 Forbes Opportunity Zones Summit: Investing for Impact presented in partnership with the Economic Innovation Group is scheduled for May 21 in Newark, NJ. The program is designed “to explore and accelerate the implementation of OZ best practices and strategies.” It is intended to spotlight stories, demonstrate ways to partner, explore promising project types, and develop plans for sustainable community impact.
